Introduction

Okay, I'm doing this partially out of therapy and partially to get information out. After a few months, this will either peter out or I'll just find fun topics to post or rant about.

Right now, I'm going to post updates about what is going on with me so that I don't have to shoot out mass emails and people who want to know what's going on can check my blog every now & again to see how I'm doing. I kind of got the idea from my friend Bob Bell. In March he had a heart attack that nearly killed him. He keeps a daily blog at twmag.com and has used that to keep people posted on his recovery.

If you want to email me, please feel free to do so. You know how to get a hold of me.

I want to also point out, as I've done in many emails that I've sent out, about what the start of this year has been like:

Towards the end of last year, my Uncle Jim was not feeling up to snuff. By the time New Year's had hit, he was sick - more than the crud that was going around at the time. Weeks roll by and by February, they finally figure out that he has brain cancer - secondary brain cancer; the primary was his colon cancer 3 years ago. Uncle Jim passed away on 16 March. We were very close, he and I. Our birthdays were a day apart. He was like a father to me - especially in the mid-80's when I was stationed in England, 50 miles from him. This was devastating to me - as it was for my Aunt June and my cousins, Nicola & Andrew. It all happened so quickly, yet seemed to be in slow motion. In early March, Deb had to have surgery to remove a defective uterus. No, really, it was causing her a great deal of pain & discomfort. It was truly defective. Dealing with her being out of commission was a heck of a thing to deal with too. I mean, I always get concerned when she has an operation. So, March was a very trying month. The beginning of the year wasn't off to a great start... but that was just the tip of the iceberg...
